The Dept. 56 North Pole Village series is primarily a stand-alone village.  The whimsical style is quite different from the traditional look of most Department 56 Village collections.  The North Pole series is a fun village to collect with children.  Our little ones have wild imaginations and may have all kinds of wonderful ideas for their ideal version of the 'North Pole.'
