Dept. 56 Alpine Village

The intricately detailed lighted buildings and accessories of the Dept. 56 Alpine Village series are as unique and diverse as the towns and hamlets in the Alpine and Bavarian regions they represent.  Many of these village buildings are reminiscent of the Swiss Alpes, widely known as the background for the musical, "Heidi."  Many of this Village collection, especially the earlier pieces, are named in German.  Maybe it's best you're shopping online so you don't need to pronounce them...

The Dept. 56 Alpine Village series is a smaller series, and may be good for someone who doesn't have to much space.  The buildings are generally designed with a similar scale and matte finish as the other Dept. 56 series, so they will blend well with most of the Villages, except for the Dept. 56 Snow Village, and the Dept. 56 North Pole Village.
